Greetings! I’m Heather Christein, and I’m excited to announce my candidacy for Bethlehem Area School District School Board. Born in Bethlehem and raised in Nazareth, I returned to this vibrant community during my college years. I graduated from Nazareth Area School District in 1994, earned a B.A. in English and Public Relations from Lehigh University in 1998, and completed a Master of Business Administration in Business Analytics from Moravian University in 2021.
My professional journey began in finance, where I worked as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional for over a decade. For the past 10+ years, I’ve dedicated myself to higher education fundraising, earning my credentials as a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE). Currently, I’m applying my skills in the political sector, advocating for causes I believe in.
As a mother, widow, and partner, I cherish my family—including my two beloved furbabies. Bethlehem holds a special place in my heart; it’s where I was born, and it’s home. My son graduated from Liberty High School in 2023 and is now pursuing his studies at Moravian University. Education is my passion, and I’m committed to ensuring every student in Bethlehem has the opportunity to thrive and lead an extraordinary life.
Serving as a School Director would be an incredible honor and privilege. I’m eager to contribute to the success of our students and our district. I humbly ask for your support and hope to earn your vote. Thank you for considering me!
With common sense at the forefront, I'll work tirelessly for Bethlehem's residents to ensure our schools embody our community's values and prioritize education and growth. I am committed to ethically stewarding your tax dollars while delivering educational excellence for every child in Bethlehem.
Let’s promote a common-sense education approach for every Bethlehem student.
Let’s return to the basics, prioritizing reading, writing, and arithmetic.
Let's ensure every student leaves the district confident and prepared for life.
Let’s prioritize student success by minimizing classroom distractions like cell phones.
Let’s celebrate and support our teachers, who selflessly impart knowledge, spark wonder, and inspire young minds.
Let’s strive for maximum transparency and stewardship of taxpayer dollars, ensuring our schools reflect the values of our broader community.
When I graduated from high school, my mom gave me a plaque with this phrase and some hopeful words for the future. I have carried this plaque with me to every office I have occupied. I felt prepared for what lay ahead. When my son graduated from Liberty High School in 2023, I continued the tradition and passed it on to him. He is still in his building phase as a college student at Moravian University.
I want every Bethlehem student to feel prepared, confident, and hopeful about their future. It would be an incredible privilege to have the opportunity to serve the Bethlehem Area School District as a School Director.
My promise to you, your children, and all the residents of Bethlehem is that I will work every day to ensure the next generation of leaders, scholars, and change-makers are given the tools to succeed!
